The Transplant Brief is a short weekly email for people who just landed in the Triangle, or are about to. What changed this week, what's worth knowing, and the thing nobody thinks to tell you until you've already got it wrong. It starts this fall.

I moved here myself. Not straight from New York — by way of a very small town in eastern North Carolina where my grandmother lived — and both halves of that turned out to matter. I had the version of the Triangle you get from a website, and then I had the version you get from living here, and they were not the same place.
