The Triangle Signal is a small, independent publisher of free local information for the Raleigh–Durham Triangle. Everything here runs on a schedule, costs nothing, and asks nothing of you.
The idea
Some of the most useful local information never gets published anywhere — or gets published scattered, late, or behind something that wants your phone number. The Signal picks one of those gaps at a time and fills it, on a schedule you can set a clock by: every Wake County high school final by Saturday morning, an honest orientation for people moving here, and more sections on the way.
The current lineup always lives on the front page.
The rules we publish by
- Free means free. No paywall, no "premium tier," no selling your email. Sponsored spots — clearly labeled — are what keep it that way.
- Facts get sources. Scores come from official box scores; rankings and figures are credited to whoever published them. When something can't be verified, it stays out.
- Mistakes get fixed fast. See the corrections & removal policy.
- We count readers. Google Analytics, which uses cookies, tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. Your email address is never sent to it.
- Nothing here is a pitch. The Signal doesn't solicit business of any kind. Full transparency about the editor's day job is on the disclosure page.

The Signal is written and edited by one person — Malique Booker. In his words:
"I'm from New York — one of the biggest cities in the world. I've also lived in small-town Laurinburg, NC, my grandmother's hometown. Raleigh is the Goldilocks zone — NC State brought me here, and I love it here. By day I'm a real estate agent; the Signal is me giving the place I chose the local information it deserves."
